info
Application status and gathering reliable information about application status is one of the central aspects of our practice at CIC. It is often the case that many representatives believe their job is over once the immigration application has been submitted. At CIC, however, we treat the submission of application package only as the begining of our job; consistent monitoring of application status and the progress of the client's immigration application through the immigration system is considered as one of our main obligations towards our clients.
At our firm, we consistently strive to provide our clients with up-to-date information about their application status and even if you are not our client, we can check the status of your application for a nominal low fee.
We can write to the immigration office in charge of your application and request that we be informed as to the client's immigration application status. Once we receive information as to the client's application status, we will then prepare a reporting letter explaining: (1) the information obtained regarding the client's application status; (2) the general processing times applicable to the particular type of immigration application in question; and (3) timing information about the applications which are currently being processed. For example, in certain categories, we can inform the client that the Immigration Department is currently processing applications which were received in month "X" of year "Y".
Timely processing of an application package is on top of our agenda and amongst the most important of our commitments to our clients.
Application status inquiries must regularly (and in a timely fashion) be made in order ensure proper monitoring of the progress of the file. If you believe the processing of your application has taken more than usual, there are mechanisms in place through which a client can force the responsible immigration official to process the application immediately or within a certain frame. This is done by bringing the matter first to the immigration officer's attention and if nothing is done, by then bringing the matter to the Federal Court asking that the Court issue an order forcing the Immigration / Citizenship Department to process the application right away.
